Towering four stories high, with over 4,000 square feet of living area, plus and additional 3,400 square feet of porches and decks, Hawk’s Landing is impressive. Its corner site allows parking for eight vehicles. First floor entry is into a tiled foyer with 4-foot wide wooden staircase leading to the upper levels. Down the hall is a full bath with walk-in shower and wide single vanity. Beyond that is a spacious bunkroom furnished with a pair of twin/queen bunk beds and loveseat. A door between the foyer and hallway affords privacy and allows guests staying on the upper floors to come and go without disturbing the downstairs guests. The bunkroom’s exterior door opens onto a covered patio leading to the pool area, which can also be accessed through an exterior door off the home’s south side parking area. The 13’ x 30’ pool has ample deck space with several lounge chairs and a charcoal grill. A hot/cold outdoor shower is located under the covered patio.
The second floor features three carpeted bedrooms, each with access to the huge wrap-around balcony encompassing the home’s west, south and east sides and affording gulf and lake views that grow more stunning with each level. There is an additional (west) balcony access off the landing. The first bedroom (SW corner) is furnished with a king bed and has a walk-in closet and private bath with walk-in shower and single vanity. The middle bedroom (S) is furnished with a queen bed, and has a walk-in closet and private bath with combination tub/shower and single vanity. The third bedroom (SE corner) is furnished with two twin beds, and has a private bath with wide single vanity, walk-in shower and large walk-in closet.
The entire third floor is dedicated to gathering space and includes substantial living and dining areas and a kitchen large enough to accommodate several cooks. Though comfortably furnished for a crowd, its best feature may be the four sets of glass doors opening to the deep wrap-around balcony, inviting guests to enjoy impressive vistas of both serene Western Lake and the majestic Gulf of Mexico. The balcony to the east overlooks the pool and lake and is screened and furnished with dining table for six, allowing you to dine outdoors insect-free. Indoors, the bright white kitchen features side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, range/oven with ceramic cooktop, microwave, dishwasher and icemaker. With wood floors and ample seating including two sofas (one a sleeper), occasional chairs and long dining table for 10, plus four seats at the adjacent bar, this multi-purpose room is the perfect place to enjoy a meal together or simply hang out. Well-stocked game closet, full size washer and dryer, and half-bath complete the layout.
The fourth floor contains two carpeted bedrooms, including the spacious (15’x 20’) master with majestic views of the gulf, Western Lake and the Village of Grayton. Furnished with a king bed, this bedroom includes a sitting area and large walk-in closet. A wide window and double glass doors to the balcony offer gorgeous views and natural light. The private bath contains a deep oval soaking tub, separate walk-in shower, wide dual vanity, and private water closet. Down the hall is an additional bedroom with two full beds and a private bath with walk-in shower, wide single vanity and walk-in closet.
All bedrooms have TVs and ceiling fans. Balconies offer ample seating to enjoy views and breezes. Two hot water heaters ensure a constant flow of hot water, and three air conditioning units keep things cool on hot summer days.
Grayton Beach is one of the Beaches of South Walton, encompassing 26 miles of pristine coastline. It is the only destination in the country to have its entire coastline certified as “Blue Wave” by the Clean Beaches Council for it commitment to maintaining unspoiled shoreline and natural habitat.
Beloved by residents and visitors alike, Grayton is known for its laid-back charm. A perennial Grayton favorite is The Red Bar, renown for its casually delicious menu and funky atmosphere. This and several other quaint shopping and dining options are within easy walking distance of both Hawk’s Nest and Hawk’s Landing.
